The Indy is a popular, progressive, independent, Democratic-leaning newspaper here in the Triangle. They generally have good recommendations (at least for the Democratic primaries). In my opinion, you can't go wrong with their recommendations if you don't know for whom to vote.
Here's who they recommend for the Dem primary...
1) President - Barack Obama
2) US Senate - Jim Neal
3) Governor - Richard Moore
4) Lt Governor- Hampton Dellinger
5) Auditor- Beth Wood
6) Insurance Commissioner- Wayne Goodwin
7) Labor Commissioner- Mary Fant Donnan
8) Superintendent of Public Instruction- Eddie Davis
9) Treasurer- Janet Cowell
10) NC Court of Appeals- Kristen Ruth, James Wynn
11) Durham County Commissioners- Ellen Reckhow, Becky Heron, Michael Page, Brenda Howerton, and Don Moffit
12) Durham Public Schools Board of Education- Leigh Bordley
13) Durham District Attorney- Tracey Cline
For Durham County voters, here is an easy cut-out to bring along with you to the voting booth...
